With over two decades of full-time ministry experience, Pastor Brent and April Rains have dedicated their lives to serving God and loving people. Since 2016, they have been honored to be a part of the team at Praise Cathedral in South Carolina, following years of ministry in Alabama and Georgia.

 

Pastor Brent Rains serves as the Pastor of Worship and Family Ministries. He leads worship during weekly services and special events such as Nights of Worship and other dynamic worship experiences. Each week, he works closely with the worship team, band, and choir—mentoring, training, and encouraging them to remain personally connected to God in their worship, both privately and corporately. Brent is passionate about strengthening families within the church. He has led in initiatives like annual community events, marriage conferences, family mission works, and family worship nights—creating spaces for families to grow together in faith is vital.​

 

April Rains is an integral part of the worship team and serves as a leader in ladies ministry. She is dedicated to prayer and studying the word. Her devotional book, Rooted, was published in 2021 and her heart to share Christ through loving others is her true call. Outside of ministry, April is a full time mom and has worked in marketing for over 20 years.

 

Brent and April both attended Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. Brent is currently completing a master's program from Richmont Graduate University. Ministry runs deep in their roots, as they are each third-generation ministers who deeply value family and legacy. Married for 22 years, they are proud parents to Lyric Noel (19) and McCuen Andrew (13), and prioritize building a close-knit, God-centered family. At the heart of their ministry is a deep desire to reflect the love of a real and personal God in everyday life. Whether through church leadership, community involvement, or personal relationships, Brent and April are committed to living a life of worship beyond the church walls. Their mission is simple: to raise up, equip, and inspire others to know God, serve Him wholeheartedly, and use their unique gifts to minister to the world around them.
